If it makes you feel better, there's a section of the movie King Lines where Sharma goes trad climbing with his old friend/mentor. They both wear helmets then. :)

It is Dragon knot (dračí smyčka). There could be another modification to tie one more loop through the uper harnes loop and into a dragon loop to stabilize rope with knot in better position then tie double fishermans. IAm using this knot.

My son started around age 3. Think it depends on the child and it should always just be fun. As there is gear for all these days he has a helmet for outdoors and a full harness(think just a hip harness is still to risky) and even shoes (totaly cute... ehem cool ;). The great thing here in Germeny is that there are indoor climbing halls that have complete areas for children. He's 4 now and still having fun.

No Alyse, in case of emergency one should not add more risk, it's better to leave more gears in that case. But yes, I have abbed on a single protection... yours Paolo

Hi Jean, Firstly, there are plenty of north faces that are relatively safe to climb. At least some of the reputation behind the phrase "North Face" has come from the tragic history of several mountains, particularly the Eiger. Saying that, there are two key things which do add to the spiciness of climbing north faces in the northern hemisphere. The main challenge is the cold; North Faces get very little to no sun at all making them disproportionally colder than surrounding mountains.... (more)

Last year's dawn wall was pretty amazing, even through I'm pretty proud about many EpicTV video series as well like Epic Climber.
