After a year of traveling to exotic places BASE jumping and wingsuiting, flying under the arm of Christ the Redeemer statue, under the bridge of the Aiguille du Midi, having a close call with a gondola in China and a BASE jump disaster in Bangkok, our three wingsuit pilots reflect on their hardships, close calls, friendships made, lessons learned and laws broken, all in pursuit of the perfect flight.
Jokke Sommer, Espen Fadnes and Ludo Woerth look back on this years wingsuit adventure and their specific search. This extraordinary project has taken the pilots to some of the most beautiful places on the face of this planet (and above it) so what have they taken away?
They've formed unbreakable bonds with each other, with new places. They learned that this line of work takes planning and extreme effort - a poorly planned jump could put them in mortal danger. Most importantly, even when you plan rigorously ahead, you can still have doubts about a wingsuit flight and you must listen to your gut.
The three wingsuit pilots also discover that some laws are made to be broken, some fences made to be climbed. How else can you BASE jump in Bangkok?
In the end, perhaps the bits in between jumps are the perfect flight - the experience, the hardships and being in these amazing locations together, doing something few people will ever do.
Then again, maybe the search will never end.
