We caught up with one of Scarpa's chief designers, Italian Simone Marcona who talks us through one of his latest boot designs, the Zodiac. Like many of Scarpa's newer pieces of footwear, the Zodiac includes their new 'sock-fit' feature which ensures a foot-hugging, comfortable fit. The Zodiac also features a robust, suede upper and up-to-the-toe lacing ensuring both water-resistance and a fully-adjustable fit respectively. In recognition of the fact that this shoe will likely be used most often by alpinists, Scarpa have designed the heel with extra cushioning to provide comfort on long walk-ins and they have also altered the rubber at the front of the shoe to be suitable for easy climbs/scrambles.
