What skills make a good onsight climber? Which factors influence the chance for a successful onsight attempt? In this video I try to answer these questions by comparing my onsight and redpoint attempt on Rain Man 8a (Monkey Island, Zillertal). During this comparative analysis we are going to take a closer look at various success factors like inspection of the route beforehand, beta reading, strategy, speed, efficiency, footwork, clipping positions, resting positions, and maybe most important, dedication. How did these aspects influence my success? What can we learn from it? Let's find out! As always, thank you for your attention, and I'll see you in the next one!
