DJI just launched its groundbreaking Phantom 3 drone, and we were at the London event for a hands-on look at one of this year's hottest filmmaking tools. The Phantom 3 has incorporated a lot of features that were once only seen only see on really high end models - the "pro" model has a 4k camera with a 1/2.3” CMOS lens and shoots 3840x2160P video at up to 30fps and the "advanced" model shoots at 1080P at frame rates up to 60 fps on the "advanced" model. Both can snap off 12 megapixel stills. With the same Lightbridge tech previously only found in the high-end Inspire now housed in the remote control, piloting is easier and smoother than ever. Many interesting new features... It will be interesting to see how 3DR SOLO performs compared to DJI Phantom 3 in practise.
