I think the hardest uk trad onsight may have been done by ian Vickers. E8. I remember reading it in a climbing magazine a few years back and the editor was still very impressed by this ascent. It was quite some time ago when he did it but I think now a days the focus has shifted from hard scary trad routes to sport and bouldering. Not that he wasn't strong back then. I did hear that he did true north 8c at kilnsey in a day some 20 years ago
