Philippe Ribiere is a professional climber with an interesting story to tell. He was born in 1977 and was diagnosed with Rubinstein-Taybi syndrome which meant that he spent his first 4 years in hospital. He was then adopted by a French family and started climbing aged 6.
Philippe has just finished the Petzl Roc Trip, an annual event that brings together some of the World’s strongest climbers and takes them to develop new routes in some of climbings most exciting venues. This year they hit the road and took in the best of Turkey, Greece, Macedonia, Romania and Bulgaria.
Philippe’s amazing life story has recently been turned into a film, which has been 4 years in the making. As well as charting his personal journey, it also follows Philippes searches for his birth mother and for love.
