US Climber Paige Claassen has made a successful ascent of "Just do it", at Smith Rock, Oregon. The route is graded a meaty 5.14c or 8c+ and Paige's is the first female ascent despite it having first been climbed way back in 1992 by Frenchman Jean Baptiste-Tribout. It is an extremely long pitch at 40m long and with 18 bolts. That would be tough enough if it was vertical but Just Do It is 25 degrees overhanging by the time you reach the top. When it was first climbed there were no 9a's in the US and it was undoubtedly the hardest rock pitch in North America.

Elsewhere, fellow American Jonathan Siegrist has made a successful ascent of Chris Sharma's Biographie at Ceuse. Biographie was first bolted back in the late 1980's by Jean-Christophe Lafaille but nobody at the time could get close to it so Arnauld Petit added an anchor half way up to skip out the toughest climbing and he made the first ascent shortly after.
