Back in April, Finalnd’s Nalle Hukkataival made the first ascent of the sit down start to Klem Loskot’s problem Bugeleisen in the Maltatal in Southern Austria. Nalle tentatively graded it 8C+ and so far it has not been repeated and could potentially be the hardest problem in the World. There are only 2 other boulder problems that are more or less confirmed at 8C+ - Gioa in Varazze Italy and Terranova in the Czech Republic – so there’s no doubt that this is a cutting edge ascent from Nalle. Adam Ondra has climbed Gioa and Terranova but nobody has repeated Nalle’s new problem so unless Adam gets himself to Austria, does the problem and gives his verdict, we may be waiting a while for confirmation of where this problem stands against the other toughest ones in the World. EpicTV has the footage and here is our favourite part – Nalle finally getting it done and his reaction afterwards. That is one happy guy.
