After one of the most deadly avalanches of all time on Everest, the Sherpas have demanded compensation from the Nepalese government. These include compensation for the families, and no penalties for the sherpas refusing to carry on working on the mountain. Whatever happens this is due to have long term effects on the future of the mountain, as the serac fall has come from the same area as 4 of the last avalanches on the highest peak in the world.
