Fresh from his 3 9a's in a day which we reported on, Adam Ondra has travelled to Valence in southern France and won the latest stage of the 2013 International Federation of Sport Climbing World Cup. There are a number of these events throughout the year but Adam doesn't enter all of them and so is not really in a position to win the overall title.
He beat off some stiff competition from Sean McColl, who until July of this year lived in Cham, and became a bit of an internet sensation when a video was released showing his brutal training regime.
Meanwhile in the women's competition, Jain Kim of Korea pipped Slovevenian Mina Markovic to the title.
Competitions like this aren't to everyone's taste and aren't really what climbing is about, but they make for some spectacular viewing and if you ever get the chance to see one live, go and check it out -- it's pretty impressive!
