After a slow start to the 2015 sport climbing season, things are most definitely now underway with some exceptional bolt clipping taking place in the past week. Last week Frenchman Sébastian Bouin repeated Chilam Balam, the famous 9b at Villanueva del Rosario in Spain, thereby becoming the 4th person to climb this grade in the past 5 months. Elsewhere in sport climbing, Mateusz Haladaj has done his first 9a+, Papichulo in Oliana, Spain, making him the first Pole to reach this grade. In the UK, Mina Leslie Wujastyk has done her second 8c by climbing Bat Route at Malham Cove and finally, Italian Gabrielle Moroni has climbed two 8C boulder problems in Magic Wood, Switzerland - Ill Trill and New Base Line – but downgraded both to 8B+ afterwards. That's all the news for today, but we're also checking in at BananaFingers to take a look at the best all-round boulder pads on the market. We'll be running through the features on the Moon Warrior, the Snap Bun and the Metolius Session to determine our pick for best of the bunch.
