Today we’re looking at a bouldering area in a state of the US that you don’t hear much about in climbing circles – Idaho. 30 minutes outside Twin Falls lies the Channel, it’s an incredible looking area in a basal irrigation channel and it is quite unique in that it spends part of the year submerged under water. During that time, boulders have been known to shift and change, making it one of the most unique venues in the world and probably the only one where the problems alter every year.
Despite a strong local climbing community, the area remains relatively unexplored and we’ve got this fantastic video of Asana athlete Beau Stuart making some awesome-looking first ascents there.
We grabbed a word with Beau to find out more.
