On the 2nd of September 2014, Pete Whittaker and Tom Randall, collectively known as "The Wideboyz," completed a monumental climbing challenge. In under 24 hours, the pair climbed all of the routes established on the Eastern and Western edges of the English Peak District by the legendary climbing partnership of Joe Brown and Don Whillans. Having previously completed the pair's routes on the Western edges alone, this challenge upped the ante somewhat, taking the route total from 31 to 125 and the difficulty level from a maximum of E4 to E6. In addition to the added climbing, the pair would also have to run upwards of 20 miles in order to ensure that they came in under the 24 hour time limit. What this video wonderfully captures is the pair's incredible sense of humour and camaraderie, shining through their complete exhaustion. Tom and Pete should be rightly proud, having established a challenge not just of climbing ability, but of pure physical stamina and mental determination that will likely see very few future suitors. #nevergiveup
