The Armada Kufo was a new ski for last season, and this season it is being expanded into a range. The current 102mm underfoot model will be continued next year, albeit with a 16% lighter “Caruba” core. At 1585grams it certainly isn’t the lightest ski targeted at touring, but this sacrifice is made in pursuit of much improved downhill skiing performance. If you were wondering how well they hold up to steep slopes and hard turns, just check out EpicTV Shop Team rider Tof Henry putting them through their paces. The new model will come in at 108mm underfoot and has the original Hybrid Tour Light core with some carbon reinforcements making this ski slightly firmer than it’s smaller brother. This is perfect for those bigger mountain lines where the extra support comes in handy, or in deep snow, where the extra width will keep you afloat. The responsiveness of the ski should be the same as it still features the AR50 sidewalls, AR nose rocker and carbon layup. As the current Kufo is one of our absolute favorites this is one to bear in mind. If you're after a touring ski, that isn’t really a touring ski, Armada may win you over with this offering.
