The great thing about working for a climbing shop is sometimes you get to play with some cool, shiny new pieces of gear. For some reason Matt put them all in a big box… we don’t really know why. Five Ten Gambit here So iLL Dry Bag here Beal DynaClip here

We left work in Sheffield at 9pm, got straight in the car and drove to Llanberis. Even though the car started showing the engine light we decided to keep going - until the thing died halfway down A55. After a night spent in the car, in the middle of a roadside pub's car park, we strolled down the expressway to the nearest service station to call the RAC. A tow, a beer and a burger later we were told that the car is not worth salvaging. Running out of options and instead of taking a train up to Manchester to borrow a car, the driver has decided to take a look at what the nearby used car dealerships have to offer. And that's how we ended up buying a car. After a short deliberation we made up our minds to just keep going to Llanberis. If the journey takes 22 hours it must be worth it, ey?

We left work in Sheffield at around 9pm with a plan to drive straight to Llanberis for two days, only for our car to start breaking down halfway there. Instead of stopping or coming back, we continued on until it fully died in the middle of the A55. After a night spent in the car, in the middle of a roadside pub's car park, we walked down the motorway to the nearest McDonalds to call the RAC. A tow, a beer and a burger later we were told that the car is not worth salvaging - we had very few choices left at that point yet instead of getting a train up to Manchester to borrow a car, the driver has decided to take a look at what nearby used car dealerships had to offer. And that is how we ended up buying a car. A short deliberation later we made up our minds to continue to Llanberis. If a trip takes 22 hours it must be worth it, ey?

One time I went to go climb in this new area a fellow climber told me about. Turns out its in the heart of a polygamist commune that is infamous for its henchmen and commonly dissapearing community members. We were tailed by a large truck until we finally hit a dirt road, climbed, and sped home never to return.
