Try not to gawk at this stunning footage of Luca Rolli skiing the Pain de Sucre with Julien Herry and Davide Capozzi on the 7th of April. This is a beautiful descent, but really, really steep. Normally you can never see all the descent: from the Top of Grands Montets you can see the top part; from the Vallee Blanche you can see the bottom part. But never the middle. The team decided to ski this line without climbing it up. They arrived from the other side. The guidebook from Tardive and Baud give a 5.5 degree to this descent. I really think some parts where around 55°. The snow was light and nice to ski, but did not stick to the hard ice below and they had to use the rope a couple of times. This is a unique piece which takes the viewer into the exact line of one of the steepest descent in the Mont Blanc Massif.
