This weekend was the final round of the IFSC Lead World Cup. After having had a bit of a break from the competition circuit, the athletes headed to Kranj in Slovenia for a last chance at victory.
Germany’s Sebastian Halenke was in strong form and powered through the lower crux, reaching the upper section of the wall. His excellent climb won him the gold medal, his first IFSC World Cup victory.
Belgium’s Anak Verhoeven climbed seven holds higher than anyone else, and was delighted with her gold medal and her second IFSC World Cup win.
So, the overall IFSC Lead World Cup Winners for 2016 are Domen Skofic for the men, and Janja Garnbret for the women.
