In the first episode of 'Hielo y Fuego', we are introduced to an exceptional Patagonian climbing expedition, filmed by Ragni di Lecco. Two young Italian alpinists, Luca Schiera and Matteo della Bordella, alongside Swiss climber Silvan Schüpbach, battle the difficult weather of Patagonia in an attempt to open new routes. With Patagonia's notoriously strong winds and everlasting rain, it's not going to be an easy task. When a weather window appears they set off to open a new route call the Californiana Sit start on Aguja de la Silla. It's a 1,800m route comprising mixed terrain, that weighs in variously at 6a+ C1 and M4/5. Impressive stuff. Seriously.
