Hi Dixon, I would look for something very light as you will probably only be using it in case of an emergency. You don't even necessarily need an adze as you will have your shovel in your bag already. I quite like the look of the new Petzl Sum'tec axes personally but havn't had a chance to use them yet. If your ski tour is not including too technical sections one good option might be Austri Alpin's Mini PhRugo: http://www.epictv.com/media/podcast/the-austrialpin-mini-phrugo-ice-axe---2015-review-%7C-outdoor-2015/602874 If you are looking for full sized ice axe Petzl Glacier LiteRide and Edelrid Race could be interesting options as well.
