On the video of DMM says can fit a tablet, what are the specific dimensions for it? so I can guarantee it will fit.

Is it still possible to travel with climbing gear on carry on or does it have to go in the hold?

Hey, so in terms of the laptop it doesn't specifically say, what it does say is that when fully packed it has the dimensions : “55 x 30 x 30 cm fully stuffed” The 13inch laptop's width is 24and a half centimetres so you should be able to fit one of them in there. With regards to putting gear in your cabin bag, its fine, it just may get checked a bit more thoroughly when put through security, hope that helps :) Davie
