Hi Dixon, Great question. The key difference between them is that nylon slings will stretch more than dyneema slings. This makes them mch better at handling shock loading. However, dyneema has a much better strength to weight ratio and is also more resistant to wear and tear and has become the more common choice of sling. You should always try to avoid situations where you might shock load a sling (for example by using rope in your anchors instead) if you can do that then there is no disadvantage to using dyneema.
