I've heard there is a way to make a locking pulley with 2 carabiners - can someone explain how?

Hi Laurelle, This is a really good skill to learn, especially useful in unplanned crevasse rescue situations. It is known as an Alpine Clutch. We recommend you look up a video on how to set it up as it is difficult to explain in words. The principal is that the rope feeds easily one way, but pull the other way and the two carabiners tighten together and clamp the rope between them locking it in place. It's no replacement for a real locking pulley, such as the micro traxion or slide-n-lock, but it can be really useful skill to have! Hope that helps, Dave
