1. Great History

Although unique in personality the two mountains of Whistler and Blackcomb have always shared a common goal: The pursuit of limitless fun in one of the most beautiful mountain environments in the world. From its humble beginnings in the 1960s, to the union of Whistler and Blackcomb via the PEAK2PEAK gondola and the hosting of the 2010 winter Olympics this resort has always strived to go beyond!

2. Great Terrain

Whistler and Blackcomb have a combined total of 8,171 acres of terrain, which includes 16 alpine bowls, over 200 marked runs and three glaciers, as well as a wealth of secret stashes just waiting to be tracked. From leg-burning parks and superpipes, to gladed tree runs, endless groomers and limitless backcountry there is plenty of space for mountain lovers of all persuasions and levels.

As the dumping ground of snow for Pacific storms, Whistler Blackcomb consistently has the best snowfall of North America. Annually an average of 38 feet falls on the resort and with the longest season of the continent there is always plenty of time to bag faceshots.

If you like your mountain to come with an ample side order of freestyle then Whistler Blackcomb is your spot. The two mountains have a total of five terrain parks, the largest of which are visible from space: Added up they cover 99 acres, contain over 200 features, including 90 rails, 100 jumps ranging in size from beginner to pro and a 22foot superpipe and mini-pipe for learning the ropes. You better have a big appetite!

Whistler Blackcomb has the best mountain bike facilities in the world: There are 74 trails, 5 skill centres and parks and over 1500m of lift serviced vertical. Riders or all skill sets are catered to, from the mixed level Fitzsimmons Zone, the original bike park of Whistler, to the challenging Peak Zone that sets out from the Peak Chair on Whistler Mountain. There is even an 8,400 square foot indoor bike park filled with foam pits, transition and jumps, making Whistler Blackcomb an all-weather heaven for two-wheelers.

As you would expect from such a great place the folks who come and settle here are also top notch. Professional rider and founder of YES snowboards DCP and his wife Megan moved to Whistler for the amazing terrain and snow but stayed because they found an welcoming likeminded community where they felt at home. They join a long list of pros and industry bods who have made this amazing mountain resort their home.
